The Cambodian genocide (1975–1979) saw nearly two million people killed by the Khmer Rouge under Pol Pot, targeting intellectuals, minorities, and dissidents. We visited a Killing Field memorial and met survivor Sum Rithy, and received a copy of his biography detailing his experiences

In 2012, former Buddhist Phan Van Hu of Areyksatr village dreamed of the voice of St. Mary calling him to retrieve a statue from the Mekong River, which led to the miraculous discovery of a Virgin Mary statue—believed to be a divine sign—bringing renewed faith, healing, and joy to the local Catholic community
