Hi Friends!
My nearest Thanksgiving turkey this year is well over 7000 miles away and as I look back on the year I want to express my deep gratitude for your partnership in my incredible journey of personal discovery and discipleship.
The fundraising task was a humbling experience that trained me to trust in divine providence. I received a lackluster response from some of those in my familiar circle and the needle barely moved during the first month. My personal responsibility of raising 50% of the total budget felt overwhelming at that time. That setback was an invitation to trust in God and to hope against hope. I’m excited to share that, with the pledges received as of last week, we are on track to reach 100% of the total budget over the next 15 months, with 55% already received! Your prayers and financial support have impacted not only myself, but also the communities served. May God bless you abundantly Phil 4:19!
Your active engagement on my updates, and personal messages keep me encouraged. It brings great joy to share our hearts despite the distance. I count on your prayers that carry me through the challenges of this journey and desolations. As an example, your prayers helped prevent malaria from further affecting our group.
Looking ahead, I’m scheduled to reach Houston at the end of December, completing my first phase, in time for attending Zion (JY national campus gathering). Piggybacking on different events, I also plan to visit JY regions in Dallas, Northeast, Chicago, and South Florida in January. While the time window in each place is short, I’d love to meet you in person while in your area.
You all continue to be in my prayers. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!!
With Love,
Josh
